Richard L. Wacksman MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been providing eye care in Bay City since 1978 and is one of the founders of Bay Eye Care Center. He received the Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1974.
Ophthalmology training was completed in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. Dr. Wacksman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a lifetime member of the American Medical Association and also belongs to the Bay County Medical Society, Michigan State Medical Society and Michigan Eye Associates, and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a frequent volunteer doing home construction with Habitat for Humanity and plays clarinet with the Bay Concert Band.
