An artificial lens will replace your natural cataract affected lens. Patients with astigmatism can choose astigmatism correcting Toric lenses, for example. If you have pre-existing refractive errors, you may be able to choose a lens that correct cataracts and your refractive error at once!
Cataract surgery is an extremely common procedure. Some may choose to have an early cataract development taken out, while some may temporarily correct blurry vision with eyeglasses or contact lenses. As a general rule, adoctor will recommend cataract surgery once cataracts affect daily activities.
